LittleBigPlanet Soundtrack Guide

Playstation 3

We all love the soundtrack to LittleBigPlanet and one of the most commonly asked questions I see in this forum is about the songs heard throughout the game's story mode, their names and where they can be found as prize bubbles.

So to help everyone out, I thought I would try and post up a definitive listing.
Firstly I'll list every song available for collection in the game in alphabetical order, so if you know the name of the song you're looking for, just look below to find its prize bubble's location in-game.

After the Story Mode's songs, I have also listed the DLC Packs' songs for those looking to acquire them, however bear in mind that to be able to use DLC music in a level yourself, you have to purchase the appropriate pack from the Playstation Store or LittleBigStore.

However if you don't know the name of the song that you're looking for, I've also included a level soundtrack listing after the song listing, which will tell you which songs can be heard on each level and a rough estimate of when the song can first be heard. Therefore if you don't know the name of the song itself but do know where you heard it, then just use the level guide as a reference to the song name that you're after.

Be warned though, this guide is mainly aimed at people who have already completed the game and are looking to add to their prize bubble collection. Even though it is only a guide for song prize bubble locations, it does contain some minor spoilers about certain events within the game's story mode.

If you want to see a track listing for both the original Playstation 3 and the PSP versions of LittleBigPlanet and want to listen to some sample clips of most of music, you can find them on the Music page on the LittleBigPlanet.com website:

LittleBigPlanet - Music

Hope this helps all you music hunters out there and good luck finding the music you're after!

Story Mode - Music Names and Locations

'Atlas' by Battles

Level - The Construction Site

It's in the 2x player area and is awarded upon completion.

'Canyons IntMusic' by Mat Clark

Level - Serpent Shrine

Requires the 'Orange Motif' sticker also found in Serpent Shrine.

Fall down the hole just before the sponge leading upto the 2x player area.
You will find a stone block that you will be able to push to the right, revealing a passage in the background for you to jump into. Jump into it and proceed right until you find the cardboard cutout for 'Orange Motif' sticker. Place the sticker to reveal the prize bubble.

'Cornman' by Kinky

Level - Boom Town

Requires the 'Orange Bird' sticker from The Meerkat Kingdom.

When you reach Uncle Jalepeño and have to collect the explosives to free him from the jail, before you take the explosives back, move the multi-coloured sponge to the far right-hand side and use it and the explosives as platforms to reach the cavern.
Once inside the cavern, use the 'Orange Bird' sticker on the 5 cardboard cutouts to reveal the prize bubble containing the song.

'Cries In The Wind' by Daniel Pemberton

Level - Boom Town

The prize bubble is inside the cat piñata just before the bank.
Simply break open to receive your prize.

'Dancing Drums' by Ananda Shankar

Level - The Dancers' Court

On the moving snake-like platforms just before the burning snake near the end of the level, the prize bubble should be in view as you move down the platforms. Jump as the platform you're on moves up to give you the elevation required to reach the prize bubble.

'Disco'n'Tinued' by Kenneth Young

Level - The Wedding Reception

Just before the end of level scoreboard, head left to jump onto the hat of the large skeleton that you previously passed under. The prize bubble is on his hat.

'Gardens IntMusic' by Mat Clark & Kenneth Young

Level - N/A - My Moon

Received for completing the in-game Music Tutorial on My Moon.

'Get It Together' by The Go! Team

Level - Get A Grip
Requires the 'Red Lion Emblem' sticker from the in-game Music Tutorial on My Moon.

Upon being able to access my moon, complete the tutorials until you acquire the "Red Lion Emblem" sticker.

Once you have the sticker, go to the level "Skate To Victory" and locate the cardboad cutout just before the 2x player area, it contains the sticker switch for that sticker.

Place the sticker on the cutout and "Get It Together" will be revealed.

'Girly Goodie Two Shoes' by The Daniel Pemberton TV Orchestra

Level - Endurance Dojo

Towards the end of the level, after using the wooden lift and crossing the bridge.
You can backtrack over the bridge by jumping right on a number of small platforms, success will give you access to a number of prize bubbles including this song.

'Islands IntMusic' by Mat Clark

Level - Endurance Dojo

This song is found during your journey up the same wooden lift as mentioned in the guide to finding the 'Girly Goodie Two Shoes' prize bubble. About halfway up the lift, you should see the prize bubble on a platform to the left. Simply stop the lift from moving and jump across to the platform to collect.

'Leaders Of Men' by The Daniel Pemberton TV Orchestra

Level - The Collector's Lair

After getting through the upper layer of the moving L-shaped platforms, drop down to the lower layer of platforms and quickly grab the hanging sponge to your left. Once safely holding onto the sponge, wait for the L-shape platforms to create a higher platform to walk on and run quickly, timing your jumps carefully to reach the song's prize bubble and a challenge key in the top left-hand corner.

'Left Bank Two' by The Noveltones

Level - N/A - My Moon
Received for completing the in-game Music Tutorial on My Moon.

'Metropolis IntMusic' by Mat Clark

Level - Lowrider
Requires the 'Pink Blaster' sticker, also found in Lowrider.

Once you have the sticker, head to the first area where you use the car bonnets to bounce up onto platforms. Use the hanging lamp that you can see to swing into a small area containing a switch, pull the switch to open up access to an area containing two taxis.

Use the "Pink Blaster' sticker on the rectangular shaped cardboard cutout to reveal the prize bubble containing the 'Metropolis IntMusic'.

'My Patch' by Jim Noir

Level - The Meerkat Kingdom

In the first room with meerkat bouncing heads, you should be able to see the prize bubble and a surivial challenge key on a platform to the upper right-hand side of the room. Just use a meerkat head to bounce you up onto the platform to reach the prize bubble.

'New Delhi Dawn' by Kenneth Young

Level - Great Magician's Palace

First you need to access the 2x player area by avoiding the falling blocks and climbing your way out of the pit, in that particular mini-challenge.

Once in the 2x player area of this level, complete the challenge to receive the prize bubble.

'Rainbow Warrior' by Daniel Pemberton
Level - The Collector's Lair
It's in the 4x player area of this level, as with all multiple player areas, complete the challenge to receive the prize bubbles including the 'Rainbow Warrior' song.

'Rhythm Trax 07' by James Pants

Level - Lowrider

This prize bubble is at the end of the level after the race with Ze Dude, it's just before Mags the Mechanic. If you can't see it, it's because your car is in front of it, so walk behind your car to collect it.

'Rock The Jungle' by The Daniel Pemberton TV Orchestra

Level - Burning Forest

Requires the 'Amazing Diamond' sticker, also found in Burning Forest.

After safely navigating past the crocodiles beneath the 2x player area, you will find 3 enemies around you. Jump off the top of the furthest left enemy's brain to bounce you into a little passage to your left. Here you will find the cardboard cutout for the 'Amazing Diamond' sticker. Place the sticker down to reveal the prize bubble.

'Saregama Sun' by Kenneth Young

Level - The Mines

After going past the 2x player area, you'll be in another area of rotating sponge wheels with a couple of metal ones that you can't grab hold of. The prize bubble should be in clear view next to the 3rd sponge wheel down, just hold onto the sponge until you've touched the score challenge key, from there you should be able to easily leap the small distance to grab the 'Saregama Sun' prize bubble.

'Savannah IntMusic' by Mat Clark

Level - The Meerkat Kingdom

As you're taking Stripy Tail back to his Meerkat Mum, be sure to drag him close to his two friends that you passed earlier, as they will then give you access to prize bubbles. The 2nd friend that you pass on your way back to his mum has the "Savannah IntMusic' behind him.

'Skipping Syrtaki' by Kenneth Young

Level - Skate To Victory

Requires the 'Red Lion Emblem' sticker from the in-game Music Tutorial on My Moon.

Upon being able to access my moon, complete the tutorials until you acquire the "Red Lion Emblem" sticker.

Once you have the sticker, go to the level "Skate To Victory" and locate the cardboad cutout just before the 2x player area, it contains the sticker switch for that sticker.

Place the sticker on the cutout and "Skipping Syrtaki" will be revealed

'Song 2' by DJ Krush

Level - Sensei's Lost Castle

Before you enter the room containing the two smaller sumos before Big Sumo himself, you should be able to see the prize bubble close to a score challenge key. Here you'll have to carefully use the fast spinning sponge wheel that's heading into the fiery coals to give you the elevation required to reach the prize bubble.

'Tapha Niang' by Toumani Diabate's Symmetric Orchestra

Level - Swinging Safari

This prize bubble is sitting right in front of Zola when he says, "I, Zola, will forgive you for damaging one of my creations if you can find out what is troubling the buffalo."

'Temples IntMusic' by Mat Clark

Level - Great Magician's Palace

Requires the 'Cobra Tail', 'Cobra Head' and 'Cobra Body' stickers, each sticker being located in one of the Temples theme main levels each.

Once you have all three stickers, proceed to the Cobra sticker puzzle which is close to the 2x player area, after a few more jumps and swings over burning pits. You should be able to see the cardboard cutout in the background of the area with the sponge platforms that you can pull out, the song along with another 2 prize bubbles should be in clear view but out of reach.
Complete the sticker puzzle and the prize bubbles will be lowered within reach of your little Sackboy.

'The Appliance of Science' by The Daniel Pemberton TV Orchestra

Level - The Darkness

After losing Don Lu's dog to the collector, work your way up the moving skull mouths until you reach the very top. Once in the top skull's mouth, wait for it to lift up and walk over onto the top of the left skull head. Don't jump otherwise you'll hit the spiked mouth and die. Once on top of the skull head, jump to your left and grab the swinging skull to help carry you to a platform to the left which holds the music track's prize bubble and a score challenge key.

'The Battle on the Ice' From 'Alexander Nevsky', Op. 78, by Sergei Prokofiev

Level - The Collector

To get this track, after destroying The Collector's final machine be sure to pick up the one and only prize bubble of this level as you proceed to the right after The Collector for the finale.

'Wedding IntMusic' by Mat Clark

Level - Skulldozer

It's on top of a wedding guest close to the end of the level.

'Wilderness IntMusic' by Kenneth Young and Mat Clark

Level - The Frozen Tundra

This prize bubble is located as you're going down the slippery ice slopes at the end of the level, best thing to do is to try and slide down as slowly as you can, so that you can jump and grab the prize bubble as easily as possible when you see it.

The only official soundtrack release so far has been 'Little Big Music - Musical Oddities From And Influenced By Little Big Planet' which is only available on iTunes currently:

http://itunes.apple.com/WebObjects/MZStore.woa/wa/viewAlbum?id=297301033&s=143444

However it's far from a complete score of the game's music since it only contains the tracks that were made by the Daniel Pemberton TV Orchestra, along with some new tracks that were "inspired" by LittleBigPlanet.

Track Listing

  1. The Orb Of Dreamers
  2. Sleepy Head
  3. Flirty Cha Cha
  4. Leaders Of Men (Little Big Planet Dub)
  5. Horny Old Man
  6. Rock The Jungle
  7. Rainbow Warrior
  8. Get Your Boots On
  9. Sepia Tones
  10. My Advice - Part 1
  11. Cries In The Wind
  12. The Appliance Of Science (Little Big Planet Dub)
  13. On The Waves
  14. Girly Goodie Two Shoes
  15. Clouds Observer
  16. Tricky Business
  17. My Advice - Part 2
  18. My Advice - Part 3

It's certainly worth getting though if you enjoy the Daniel Pemberton tracks in-game.
