LittleBigPlanet Development Update - Cornish Yarg Details

It's been a while since we last gave an update about upcoming changes to LittleBigPlanet so here's what we've got in the pipeline.

First and foremost is the 1.12 game update otherwise known as Cornish Yarg. This update addresses several outstanding issues with the game :
- There is a new music player which lets players choose their own music from the XMB to play during create mode and in their Pod
- Improved decoration mode makes it easier to customise your Sackboy
- New options to help prevent profiles becoming full of unwanted community objects:
· Option to delete all (unhearted) community objects and photos
· Option to select whether to automatically collect community prizes and photos
- A number of improvements have been made to make profiles more robust and to recover from certain errors
- We now support Japanese and Korean IME for text chat.
- Emitter prediction has been improved (this should help fast-moving projectiles e.g. in MGS levels)
- The player proximity switch now has a ‘require all’ option in it
- An option has been added to cycle between various level information when viewing community levels on the earth
- Various LittleBigStore improvements

We don't yet have a fixed release date for this update, but it has now finished primary development so won't be too much longer. Additional fixes, particularly for online connection reliability and save game/profile size problems are already well into development and we'll bring you more news on that just as soon as possible.

In the meantime we've lots of new content coming up for download, and you can find the details of all the latest content here.

Sounds awesome, especially the part about getting rid of community items faster. I got sick of spending 20 minutes every few days to delete them one by one.

Can we get some info on some new level packs?  I want some more LBP trophies :smileyhappy:

To add some timing context to this, the 1.11 update, which contains content only, is due for release next week (I'll update if this timing changes). Cornish Yarg is a little after that release, but I'll give a better timeline once it's looking concrete.

I'm sure a lot of people will be thrilled about the new options regarding collecting and disposing of community objects. I'm looking forward to seeing some of those changes up close and personal, not to mention playing with the new music options in my pod and in the level creator.

At the same time, I'm going to go take cover as the backlash hits when people notice that the globe switch wasn't on that list anywhere.

I thought it already did? It would be helpful if grab switches had "require all".

Are we talking the standard behind the scenes content update that lets us see the new stuff as it is "released" or honest to goodness new content available after the 1.11 download? Not looking for specifics since the timeline isn't set in stone yet, but just trying to get an idea on which to expect.

Hypno-hat answer incoming...

It contains upcoming DLC items (so that even if you don't buy it you can see it). We've announced all the content releases until mid-April so far and once we're close to the end of the existing list we'll update with the next load.

As for the exact content, you'll have to wait just a little bit longer as even though the content is patched in its exact release date can still move.
