Hey Calamitizer!  You can start right away.  Could you review Adaman23's level for me?

ZERO PUNCTUATION: QUICK TIME'S REVENGE

AUTHOR: Asbestos101

DIFFICULTY: [Medium]

POSITIVES: I've always been a fan of Zero Punctuation, so when I saw that you said I could pick between the two levels, I immediately picked this one.  I'm glad I did.  This is one of the very few levels that I can honestly say is perfect.  The visuals are true to the source and look absolutely amazing.  Everything is polished to a bright sheen.  The gameplay is inventive and innovative.  I especially like the uncover-the-button, release-the-vehicle section.  Quick Time Event is very funny and very well-executed, as is the other boss.  What most struck me is the visual style and the two little inclusions of beloved franchises (look for those yourself).  Everything was perfect.  I'm very happy I played this level, and want to know that I think it's criminal that your level has so few plays.  I'm definitely featuring it on my blog.  Great job!

NEGATIVES: I can, for the very first time as a reviewer, say that I could find no negatives.  The difficulty was just fine, the level looked great, it had excellent gameplay, two bosses...everyone needs to play this.

NITPICKS: This is very, very small, but in the level description it says 'sinster' instead of 'sinister'.

SUGGESTIONS:

-Again, none.

-Well...make another one!

NOTES: None

OVERALL RATING: 5/5 stars; [hearted and author-hearted]

Alien Attack: They Have Arrived!

Author: Gwar666

Difficulty: [Medium]

Positives: The level does have secret areas that you can get prizes if you want them, and has a potential of being a pretty good level. The some of the characters are unique, and the creator made them, and even has a part at the end where you can choose if you want a challenge or not, and trust me, the challenge is very challenging indeed.

Negetives: The story line is a bit sporatic and random in some parts. First, the aliens arrive, then a government official pops out of nowhere. And then a cat with a boombox is just sitting there doing nothing at all. It seems all too oddly placed. Secondly, the visuals seem plain and non-photogenic. Gold here, burned background there, dark matter all around. It's also short. Very short.

Nitpicks: The platforms wobble and shake around. They're not very stable. Also, the dark matter looks... well... ugly... change it into something more decorative, and just use invisible joints.

Suggestions:

  • Like I said before, change the dark matter.
  •  Get an amount of materials that look alike and go with your theme (like perhaps some silver metal maybe?) and stick with them.
  •  Explain your characters and why they're there.
  •  Only use burning objects for obstacles. It doesn't look very nice on backgrounds (unless you're having your level in a volcano, then have at it) or the people in your level.
  •  When you have your background, make it a background that goes with your level and stick with it almost all the way through, except when you're changing locations. (From city to farm, etc etc.)
  •  STAY AWAY FROM BASIC MATERIALS! With your location and theme of your level. It would be wise just to stay away, and use more decorative materials.
  •  Put more obstacles in your level. It's all too short, and a tiny bit repetitive.
  •  Don't be afraid to use stickers! Stickers are a level's best friend and can really make it look nicer.
  •  When you have a floor or wall, make sure it is thick enough so that the player cannot see under it.
  • Use the tweak menu. Connector joints like rods and pistons can be invisible and stiffened.

Notes: It is a good attempt at the level. It just needs some extraordinary mechanics like lights and ships to transform it to a ho-hum run-of-the-mill regular level to AN EXTREME AWESOME LEVEL OF TOTAL PWNAGE! Keep at it!

Overall rating: 2 out of 5 (Not hearted or author hearted.)

First review finished! What do you think of that, Review Group?
