I recently finished my second level and have not been getting good star ratings. If I could get a review maybe I can find out what people are not liking. My style is minimalist and I know not a lot of people 'get it' but I feel my designs and mechanics are solid....
PSN: aWold
Level: Platforming Aptitude Test
Thanks!

REVIEW: ESCAPE THE COMPOUND
CONCEPT: The concept of this level is to provide challenging puzzles to the player as they escape a compound. The theme never really tied together, as the creator went between random main materials frequently. 2.5/5
VISUALS: The level never really visually did anything special. The main material was poorly selected, as was the background. 1/5
SOUND: Little/none. 2/5.
GAMEPLAY: This is where the creator placed most his faith in the level. It didn't pay off. The second puzzle with the jetpack and placing the objects in the right areas sounds like a cool concept, but it ended up as a trial-and-error process as the objects you must place in the holes are not color coded in any way. The fourth puzzle was a waiting game, and the fifth one had a bug that rendered the level unbeatable. The puzzle in the underground tunnel was absolutely no fun at all, and only frustrated me. The boss was an MM made one, and it was edited to the point of unbeatability. The water seemed thrown in JUST to get extra plays. 1/5.
ORIGINALITY: Not a single puzzle in here had I not seen somewhere else in LBP. 2/5.
FINAL NOTE: This level was not that difficult, it was frustrating, and levels visuals were extremely bland.
RATING: 1.5/5.
SUGGESTIONS:
*On the boat scene, you should add scenery. I just sailed along staring at the poorly chosen background listening to music thrown in the level JUST because it was POTC.
*On the puzzle with the jetpacks, color-code each of the glass keys to match with the locks. This would make that puzzle infinitely less frustrating.
*There is a glitch in the crane section where when you grasp the electric brick and move it to the left, it tilts the electrified brick, effectively getting it stuck, which forces you to jump on the glass and then jump over the electric brick.
*Add arrows describing what each of the three way switches on the crane do.
*Make the puzzle before you leave the compound a bit higher so the jump is not as hard to make.

LBL:LRRS and the Sneaky H4Her! [Part 1]
AUTHOR (PSN ID): Mnniska
CATEGORY: Platformer/Story
DIFFICULTY: [Medium]
DURATION: Approx 12 minutes
LEVEL LOCATION: North of Russia
PROS:
This level is currently entered in a couple of current contests. Hence the name, LBL (LittleBIGLand) since they are hosting one of them. As a turn of uncommon events in LittleBigPlanet, you play two characters in the story. You are Little Red Ridding Sack in the first half of the level. For the second half, you are the evil character (the Big Bad Wolf to be exact) while you are searching for Little Ridding Red Sack Hood as she will lead you to her grandmother's house. You see as the mother waves goodbye and informs LRRS of what she has to do. You are guided by a fairy that will function as a guide if you ever lose your way or an obstacles becomes too difficult. The oblivious LRRS eventually confronts the big bad wolf (now played by you) and you persuade her to give you her bag of hearts. You eat them and make your way to grandmother's house. You are captured by the not so innocent fairy. You make your getaway and must traverse several chronologically designed and creative obstacles. My two favorites would have to be the lowering and raising columns. Im referring to the ones with the grabbable sponge on top and the fiery base at the bottom. The other one is the rotating platforms that timely shift from one position to another. This is obviously just a few amongst several others. Numerous written narratives are provided which make the level have a genuine fairy tale feeling and the characters are really fun to watch. Will you be able to find a human morsel to gnaw on? Go into the woods you big bad wolf and let your animal instincts kick in. It will be a great treat to play part 2 when it comes out.
CONS:
This is barely a con for this level, but the visuals could use a bit more of looking into. A couple of stickers and decorations could help it a bit.
NITPICKS:
- The level description needs some slight adjusting. Some words can be replaced with others. A suggestion for this was placed below in the SUGGESTIONS section of the review.
- There is a sign that reads "HELP", but the peculiar thing is that it is backwards. I am not sure if this was done intentionally or if it was done by accident when the sticker was placed. You can see it here.
NOTES:
- The level states that it is best to be played in single player. I played it in single and multiplayer mode and works fine. The author just wants to assure that the level's quality is top notch.
- I played it in multiplayer with the co-leader of LittleBIGReviewers gocubsgo2.
Originality 4/5
Creativity 4.5/5
Sounds 4/5
Visuals 4/5
Design 4.5/5
Gameplay 4.5/5
Replay 4/5
OVERALL SCORE: 4/5

Very Good! [level and author hearted]

SUGGESTIONS:
- In the level description, change the following selected words for the ones the level currently has so that they suit their respective sentence adequately:"Little Red Ridding Sack have (has) been sent out by her Mom to bring her grandmother some well deserved hearts and a bit of yum. On the way danger awaits...(On the way, danger awaits or Danger awaits along the way)[Play this ALONE! Many off (of) the puzzles and speech bubbles will mess up with multiple people]-Enjoy-
- In regards to the visuals, add stickers and decorations so that it looks a bit more complete. These stickers could be different shades and shadows of black perhaps. Flower and leaf decorations also work great for your theme.
- Verify the "HELP" sign you placed. It is backwards and not certain if it was done intentionally.
- You can make some 'Z's be emitted from the wolf at the end. This would look nice. Plus, it will reinforce the concept that the wolf is sleeping in the bed.

THE GLADES
AUTHOR: i89oiu
DIFFICULTY: [Medium]
CATEGORY: Platformer
POSITIVES: I'm not quite sure how I feel about this level. I desperately want to like it, but can't quite bring myself to. There's just a few too many problems with it, however there is DEFINITELY potential. If the negatives and nitpicks listed below are fixed, I believe it will be a much better level, in the long run. What I really liked about this level was the gameplay. The ideas were executed well, and included many staples of what is widely considered by the community to make a good level. There was a race, grabbing, pulling things...the works, the standards. Nothing wrong with that, plus a few ideas/obstacles were clever, in my opinion. If this level is worked on a bit more, the potential will turn into awesomeness.
NEGATIVES:
-The glass arrows behind the glass ramp/slide contrast with the visual style of the level. Arrows are fine, but making them electrified changes that fact. I suggest de-electrifying the arrows.
-Some of the lights throughout the level seem haphazardly placed. For example, right after the aforementioned arrows, there are lights sitting on the ground. I suggest picking them up and gluing them to the surface behind or hanging them from a thin layer material.
-At the section where the infinite checkpoint drops as the piece of dissolve behind it dissolves, there is both visible dark matter and unstickered dissolve. Having both of these is considered unprofessional in the community. I suggest getting rid of the dark matter by suspending the checkpoint from a thin layer behind it. I suggest stickering the dissolve material to cover up the green hue.
-Immediately after the above mentioned section, the glass platforms are hanging from electrified dark matter. Hide or get rid of the dark matter.
-There is a visible proximity switch on the flipper that makes you fly to the end of the level. I suggest making it invisible.
-The visuals, while certainly adequate, are honestly nothing special. MAKE it special. Put more time and attention into the visuals. More effort will equal more plays, hearts, and satisfied players. This level was decent; the gameplay ideas were generally there and developed. Combine that with better visuals and you've got a winner.
NITPICKS:
-In the description, it says, "Heart if you enjoyed!" This is only a VERY small nitpick. If a person likes a level enough, they will heart it. No coaxing needed. I suggest removing that sentence from the description.
-The pink gas in the level contrasts with the material choices. I suggest changing the gas to either black or gray to more suit the visual style.
SUGGESTIONS:
-Look into, consider, or implement the negatives and nitpicks.
NOTES: None
OVERALL RATING: 3/5 stars; [not hearted or author-hearted]

Thanks gocubsgo2 for that review. There is a lot here for me to go on with now, and i will work on implementing most/all of these ideas. More importantly, when i make my next level (which i have already started), i will refer back to the shortcomings of this one and make sure to have addressed them before publishing it.
In regards to the points that i have quoted:
I electrified the glass arrows in order to hide the fact that they had blobs of dark matter holding them up. Similar reasoning was why i had used dark matter to hold up the platforms in the race. Simply because i couldn't think of a better way of doing it. I will go back and look at ways of hiding/getting rid of all dark matter that is visually obtrusive however.
The description i will change.
The gas colour seemed ok to me, as it was (sort of) close in colour to the background. On the other hand, i guess that it is still quite bright, so i will compare with other colours.
