I like this idea, but in the spirit of LBP, I think it should be a rainbow coloured switch/key.

I like this idea! It could be very useful.

(sorry if somebody mentioned these or there possible but I dont know how. i didnt read the whole thread)
1. I think we should be able to have an invisible material without having to make a certain material reaaaaaly small to be invisible AND be able to put stickers on it (I have a completely invisible material, but i cant place stickers on it no matter what size it is)
2. Sticker Shaping, where you can make a sticker into an object so it fits perfectly and everything.
3. Being able to make water in a certain place instead of flooding the whole level (probably been mentioned)
4. Make ACTUAL teleporters that teleport you to another area without dieng.
5. Make easier tweaking for winches (I can never make a elevator just right because the minimum length is always wrong)
6. Make maximum and minimum length in units EX: You can base it on squares in a big grid, small grid, or medium grid so it can be easier for things like elevators to go the exact amount you want. You could also change this option in options to go back to the original (what we have now)
7. Make more shapes to make materials in, like X's
Thats all for now.

Kinda already is. Each small grid is 2.5 length for pistons/winches, etc, but the connecters at each end take up one small grid between them. So if you want your piston/winch to be exactly 10 small grid squares, the length is ((10 x 2.5) - 2.5) = 22.5.

I apologize if this has been said before (I haven't read through the 100's of replies). But I would really like the option to have a "Cut to Sticker Shape" Option.
Basically you could create a giant block of wood and put whatever stickers you wanted on it (say building a head/face), after clicking "Cut to Sticker Shape" It would remove all excess wood and only leave the part of the block with the sticker on it. Instant face to put on a body!
It would save me hours of finely clicking and pointing every point to fit the shape of the sticker and I could really start making levels a whole lot faster. If I want a tree in my level I should be able to just have a tree! Not spend a half hour of my day cutting out individual leafs on the sticker to make it look perfect.
I think this would make the level creation process much easier and accessible to a wider audience.
Also, if this option already exists and I'm just not aware of it for the love of all things holy let me know.
Thank you.

I totally agree with your #2 (which I believe is exactly what I asked for on my last post so I apologize for the echo) but your number 3 is exactly what I need.
I think it would function great as a bucket tool where you could just poor water freely into a dug out part of the ground etc so it spills out in real time. Then voila, a filled puddle instead of a Filled-to-the-brim level

I would really like some easy to use metal materials. How about COPPER or STEEL or GOLD people of LBP? It really makes it difficult to create machines when they mainly turn out either rusty, too shiny, or they look like a girder. I just want SMOOTH (no embossed edge/border) metal surfaces.

Yeah I've noticed the meal is way toofancy sometimes, sometimes stickering it helps, but it seems odd we just don't have regular gray metal.
Also I like the sticker shae idea, I'm sick of cutting out crap for my stickers, the corner editor is great and all but fussy as ever sometimes, like sometimes it doesn't even work. :l I'd also like someone to fix that whenever they can, not being able to even subtract corners tosome objects is a pain sometimes.

IDEA 1
I have read the first 40 pages of this thread now and many ideas are repeating. This being said, I would like someone in charge of the thread from Media Molecule etc to put something to a vote on the website.
There are a lot of good ideas out there but it's tough to sift through the same things. I think before you post a new idea/reply you could just go to a screen (with the ideas we have on here so far) where you could check a box to show you agree/vote for an idea you were going to post to prevent repetition on the boards. I think it would be a tremendous organizational tool. Not to mention it would give us a stronger impression that MM is listening (I know you are MM! I see your water tool and invisible pistions. Thanks!). Thoughts?
IDEA 2
It always disappoints me when I make a detailed object on a large scale (for the very reason of making it detailed) and when I shrink it down parts of it disappear. I'm not trying to make it miniscule. There should be a material that you can use that can get very thin without disappearing. Does anyone know of one?
IDEA 3
I would like the ability to round the corners of my object. I think they call it "fillet" in the AutoCAD industry. Just have a fillet tool and set the value/% just like in AutoCAD programming. You could even do it PER corner. Click corner, set percentage. Voila! Thoughts?
IDEA 4
This is more of a statement than an idea. I have read a lot about pencil tools, importing photos, and importing music. However, I am against it. Yes it would be great to just draw a picture of whatever you wanted in the level, import, and just sticker it on there. But we all know this won't be the case. There will be too much copyright infringement/ drawings of who knows what.
MOST IMPORTANTLY I feel that importing everything takes away from the soul of LBP. I LIKE the fact that clouds hang on string and you can see the behind-the-scenes parts in the level. I LIKE that you get to hear those LBP songs and not something by KISS, you know?
MM created something with vision, and I think that "do whatever you want" really is a slap in their face. It is a game about being creative (i.e figure out a way to make the stickers work for you). This being said, can we PLEASE just get a COLOUR tool with a RGB Gradient!
Thank you for reading even though its a little long I feel it's worth the time.

1: As long as new ideas can still be suggested that might work.
2: Or if they chould just keep our objects from distorting, that'd be nice. Really I don't know why they have to distort anyway...
3: This would be nice. Having to cut out rounded corners is kind of annoying.
4: Mm won't let us do that anyway, then they wouldn't make any money off sellig us premium sticker kits and music packs. Far as the music thing goes, I understand, but I wouldn't mind it if new music came out more often than it does.
Far as drawing stickers goes, and I know someone will probably want to slap me for this, but Mm could make people pay to upload drawn stickers, then check the sticker to see if it's safe.
Far as copywright issues go, we already have those, the PSeye does it's job well.
Far as the LBP feel goes, I kind of agree, but then again, I've seen things stray pretty far from LBP's 'feel' with things like MGS music. Fake, plastic looking water used to be an LBP feel, so did clouds that hung from visible wenches, but they're no longer needed and we can make our levels look serious.
But there is some stuff I won't care to see in LBP, most of it is aduterated. I like the happy, colorful scheme of LBP, so I do understand where you're coming from.
